St. Charles, IL - The St Charles Arts Council, in partnership with the St. Charles Park District, presents ArtsFest | St. Charles - ALL of the ARTS, ALL over TOWN - from Friday, September 8 through Sunday, September 17. The event features terrific arts programming going on all over town.
This Week - Showcasing the Jumpin' 100 Block of West Main
Steel Beam Theatre - 111 W. Main Street
It's SBT's 16th season of wonderful theater. During ArtsFest, SBT is producing 100 Years of Broadway, The 1st Century of Musicals. This original musical evening takes you on a journey through the major milestones of Broadway hits - and near misses - that make up the American showtune century. From the era of Ziegfeld to the era of big blockbuster musicals, this show will have your toes tapping and your heart singing. Conceived and Directed by Douglas Orlyk. Featuring: Karen Bronson, Terry Christianson, Pam Gianakakos, Josh Gouskos, Allison Kurtz, Douglas Orlyk, Christine Pfenninger, David Pfenninger, Lori Skubich

In addition to SBT's "Broadway" play, they are hosting two showings of the Geneva Film Festival's presentation of Best of the Festival. The complete line up of films is on the SCAC's web site - visit ArtsFest. The Library showing on September 9th is SOLD OUT, so make plans to see the films at Steel Beam!
And whether you see the play and/or the films, enjoy the Steel Beam Theatre Art Gallery, while you're there. The exhibit, which will be going on throughout ArtsFest can be viewed during Steel Beam's hours.
Laura Frazier Artistry - Grand Opening + Color Field Art Collaboration - 111 W. Main Street
The 111 W. Main building is All About Art! SBT is upstairs, Salon Agape is on the first floor (artists at what they do + artwork on their walls), and Laura Frazier Artistry (gallery and studios) is downstairs. September 15 from 6 to 10 p.m. is their Opening Reception! LFA's show is Meta Series & Madame Butterfly. In addition to the Opening, gallery goers will see a Repeat Performance (the Premiere is at the SCAC's Pop-Up Galleries at Pheasant Run on September 8) of Color Field, an art collaboration curated by Laura Frazier. Live Painting to Spoken Word to Music. Poetry/Spoken Word with Emily Thornton Calvo, Russ Devereaux, David Gecic, and Christine Swanberg + Jazz with Clare Black and Company + Live Painting with Emily Thornton Calvo, Laura Frazier, Jose Aleman Sasieta, and Peggy Sue Seehafer.
Stanbridge Master Saddlers Pop-Up Gallery Shop, Artist Peggy Sue Seehafer - 122 W. Main Street
ArtsFest's FIRST Pop-Up Gallery Shop will be at Stanbridge Master Saddlers. The Pop-Up opens on September 8 and runs through the month, during store hours.
