Joan of Arc

Presented by Sigman Brothers. Joan of Arc, a French peasant girl, following "divine voices," led an army to break the siege of Orleans, crown the dauphin Charles VII as the rightful king and drive the English army from her country. Although Joan's military career lasted less than a year and she died before the age of twenty, she directly influenced the result of the Hundred Years' War. There is no evidence that Joan had any comprehension whatsoever of tactics, strategy or even the basic essentials of military operations. Yet in every battle she led from the front of the army, and although wounded twice, she remained in the most dangerous positions at the center of the battle. Interestingly, Joan herself recognized her worth as a symbol rather than a fighter and readily admitted during her trial that she never personally killed anyone in combat. Joan, in a mere six months of warfare, earns the distinction of being the only woman included in every list of the top 100 influential military leaders of all time. She, however, is no mere token. Regardless of one's feelings about "hearing voices" or women in combat, Joan left her mark, one that continues to this day. Charles the VII, who did nothing to save her at the time, ordered a formal retrial in 1456 that rehabilitated her reputation. On May 16, 1920, nearly 500 years later, Pope Benedict XV canonized her. Today on the 2nd Sunday of May a national festival all across France honors Joan as an enduring symbol of French unity and nationalism. MORE INFO

A Salute to the Stars: Celine Dion

Presented by Midwest Entertainment. In an industry where imitation is considered the sincerest form of flattery, Brigitte Valdez paints the most definitive portrayal of the electrifying Celine Dion and showcased it originally on Dick Clark's Your Big Break at the NBC Studios in Burbank, California. Since then, and over 10 years later,
Legends in Concert, the world's longest-running and ultimate impersonation extravaganza, has kept Brigitte very busy; as she has used her world-class voice to take on the passionate persona of Ms. Dion. This opportunity has led Brigitte to other dynamic destinations such as Las Vegas, Hollywood, Atlantic City, Branson, Myrtle Beach, Florida, Lake Tahoe, Palm Springs, Phoenix, Toronto, and Osaka, Japan. Through all her travels in the spotlight, Brigitte's renown was also featured in 2007 in the semi-finals during one season of ABC's nationally broadcast reality show, The Next Best Thing. As one of the very few "Celines'" in the business, Brigitte is the prime and single choice for corporate events, private parties, charities, etc; for she's sure to be closest to the real thing! "It is both an honor and a privilege to pay tribute to one of the most gifted and adored artists in the world," Brigitte affirmed. I have the utmost regard and appreciation for Celine's vocal ability and I highly respect her as a person who's imbued with morals, values, and ethics much like my own. She and I both share the same passions for music, faith, family, and life; the things most important to me. So, this is my heartfelt tribute" PREVIEW

Presented by Midwest Entertainers. Brian has been traveling and singing the beautiful and challenging songs of Roy Orbison fulltime since 1995. His tribute artist career began calmly enough, purely as a hobby during his years of being a writer and radio show host in New England - that announcer with the smooth "voice of authority"
A fan videoed Brian singing at a club one night, and without his knowledge, sent the tape off to a Las Vegas producer. Soon after, a very surprised Brian received a telephone call while on the air. The caller was the world famous impersonator show "Legends in Concert", and Brian's career changed overnight to one of bringing Roy's music to the stage in a tribute to the Big "O" that is amazingly natural.
