July 30, 2018 - The St Charles Arts Council, in partnership with the St. Charles Park District announces the city-wide, all-arts Event - ArtsFest, ALL of the ARTS, ALL over TOWN - running from Friday, September 7 through Sunday, September 16.  The Event is designed to showcase for residents and visitors the depth and breadth of those who create and support The Arts in our community. We invite everyone to enjoy programming that is brand new for the Event, as well as events and places they have enjoyed for years.

The 8th Annual ArtsFest | St. Charles features multiple artistic disciplines in venues all over the city including art galleries, film, music, poetry, and live theater. New ArtsFest programs include the Gallery Crawl and the Poetry Crawl. The Poetry Crawl features poems chosen to be displayed in the Fox Poetry Box, as well as The Finery and Blacksmith Bar, The Grandstander, Stanbridge Masters Saddlers, Smitty's on the Corner, and other locations.   The Fox Poetry Box is part of the Poetry in Public Spaces movement, located at the front of 20 South 12th Street, St. Charles and curated by Poet Tricia Cimera Whitworth.  Ms. Whitworth worked with the SCAC to develop the Poetry Crawl, expanding the public spaces showcasing the work.  Poets interested in participating in the event should Email their poem to tmcwhitworth@gmail.com with a brief bio. Visit stcharlesartscouncil.org/2018/07/the-fox-poetry-box-call-for-poems for more info about the Call for Poets.  More info about the Fox Poetry Box on their Facebook page, facebook.com/FoxPoetryBox/.

The new Gallery Crawl includes ELEVEN Art Galleries/Exhibitions operating during the event, including the SCAC's latest ArtsFest Pop-Up Gallery and the Norris Cultural Arts Center's signature Vicinity Show, as well as the Park District's Sculpture Exhibition.
